What is Coring?

Concrete coring is the process of drilling precise, circular openings through extremely hard concrete using water-cooled, diamond-tipped equipment. This specialised method allows for accurate drilling of larger-than-standard diameter and depth holes, even through reinforced or heavily hardened concrete structures.

Coring is a clean, controlled, and highly efficient technique widely used in construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects. It is commonly applied for creating openings for plumbing, electrical conduits, HVAC installations, and structural modifications, ensuring accuracy without compromising the integrity of the surrounding structure.

Important notes regarding coring:

  • Before scheduling a coring service, please take note of the following important requirements and responsibilities:

    • Coring is a wet and messy process. While our team takes every precaution to minimize the mess and clean up afterward, some water and debris are inevitable.

    • Electricity must be available on-site to operate the coring equipment.

    • The work area must be clear and accessible. Please ensure that the area to be cored is clean and free of any obstructions.

    • Hole placement is the customer’s responsibility. You must clearly mark where holes are to be cored. It is essential that the marked areas are free from hidden obstacles such as:

      • Drain pipes

      • Copper or PVC water lines

      • Electrical conduits

      • Any other materials that may cause damage during drilling

    • Structural integrity must be confirmed. It is the customer’s responsibility to consult with a structural engineer to ensure coring will not compromise the building’s integrity.

    • We do not have access to building or plumbing plans. Our team will core exactly where you indicate. It is your responsibility to confirm that coring can safely take place in that location.

    • Disclaimer: Dynamic Hire cannot be held liable for any damage caused as a result of coring in areas that were not properly assessed by the customer.
